Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Review

When trying to conjure up interesting nail art designs, I always like to consult Google images so I can get tons of inspiration for trendy and intricate designs; but if you're not so skilled in the nail art department it can be a pain in the you know what to try and recreate some of these designs. So while out shopping one day I came across the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen and I decided to give it a try.

Now I currently own only one colour and its in the colour Black, but they come in a variety of shades that will suite any design that you're going for (check here for the entire colour range). The nail polish flows easily through the fine tip applicator which makes it super easy to draw/write lines, shapes, letters, figures and it's great for creating effortless french manicures, but once you're done you MUST make sure to seal the design in with a good top coat.

A noticeable con to the nail art pen is the fact that shortly after it's applied over another nail polish and left to dry it starts to crackle up a bit and I subsequently had to reapply it in some spots and without applying a top coat the design will definitely rub off/fade out; but besides that I think that it's a great product and I'll probably purchase a few other colours to round off my collection. In the mean time here's a quick outcome of the test run that I conducted on the pen.

Test design 2 (before)

10 minutes later without applying a top coat. I scratched my head and this is what happened :)

Has anyone else tried the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens? lemme know what you think about them
Hope this helped ; )

OOTD: Beach Party

One thing that I look forward to every summer in Jamaica is good beach parties. Jamaican beach parties are more about making a fashion statement than it is about dipping and splashing in the beach. Don't get me wrong, you will definitely have a great time, but you have to look good doing it.

The other day I went to Absinthe, a well known beach party, and this is the outfit I decided to wear. I love the earth tones of this outfit and the fact that it's beach party appropriate without showing too much.

The accessories I paired the outfit with...

Bikini Top: H&M
Bikini Bottom: F21
Maxi Skirt: ASOS
Sandals: Bamboo
Bracelets: Bershka, H&M
Earring: Charlotte Russe
Rings: F21

Make-Up: Debbie
Photographer: Sanai

I hope you are having a lovely day,
Shannon xoxo

Colour Coordinated Closet

I finished school in Hong Kong and I am now moving back home to Jamaica and with that comes the task of moving ALL my stuff from across the world. I am in the process of organizing my room and closet. I decided to colour coordinate my closet and I got to say, the presentation is so much better! So I am challenging you all to use this summer to clean out your closets and colour coordinate your clothes. It's so much fun!

My attempt at colour coordinating my closet - it's a bit crammed though

Where to begin? I would suggest emptying your closet completely and then start by hanging 'white clothes' and in between you can use the below colour wheel as a guide in the direction of 'light pinks' to 'reds'; then you can end with 'black clothes'. If you don't have a piece of clothing of a specific colour, just skip that colour!

Happy colour coordinating all!

Maybelline Color Tattoo Haul

I know I'm probably one of the last people here in the beauty blog world to get these, but I'm happy to say that I finally got my hands on some of the the Maybelline Color Tattoos. I picked up a total of nine out of the ten shades from Walmart and Ulta and I was totally blown away at how pigmented, vibrant and creamy these little pots of product were.

Maybelline describes these as a cream gel type product that has a 24 hour wear time, now I have only worn and tested Bad to the Bronze so far and the wear and lasting power is phenomenal but I can't attest to it lasting for 24 hours because I would never dream of wearing my makeup for that long. It blends well and can be worn by itself or as a base for your eyeshadow, which is how I prefer to use it. Here are the swatches of my collection.

And here's the closeup of each ......

Fierce & Tangy (matte)

Edgy Emerald (matte)

Pomegranate Punk (metallic)

Bold Gold (metallic)

Bad To The Bronze (metallic)

Painted Purple (matte)

Audacious Asphalt (metallic)

Tenacious Teal (metallic)

Tough As Taupe (matte)

So.. have you guys tried out the Color Tattoos yet? if so lemme know what you think about it!

Kingston Kitchen & OOTD

Last Sunday the hubby and I along with my baby nephew decided to check out Kingston Kitchen. Often times it's difficult to find really good day time events in Kingston, not sure if it's because everyone is afraid of the day time heat; but let's say I am happy we found out about Kingston Kitchen events. It's the perfect Sunday evening kickback...food, family and fun. The event was held at Hope Gardens and it's usually held every other month, you can check here  for more info on the event.

The atmosphere was very chill and everyone was just nibbling on the delicious food while chilling with their family and friends. They had a variety of vendors from simple fruit vendors to those offering gourmet bites. There is something for everyone; from the vegetarian to the meat lovers. The prices were also reasonable; averaging between $200-$500. The hubby and I had so much to eat and got really great deals! But can you blame us, how often do you get to sample all the deliciousness from Jamaica's talented chefs, all in the same place?

Here are some highlights from the event...
Lay of the Land. Beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Delicious pork sliders from EpicEats. $300 for 3...great deal!
Tee Tree Creperie's booth. Preparing our delicious minty lemonade with rum. So refreshing!
Tee Tree Creperie. Strawberry and Nutella Crepe. Yum Yum. $550
The most amazing Chicken Kebab from Great House Caterers. $250 for 2
The Cafe Blue booth for the coffee lovers, like myself. Yum Yum.
Lots of treats for the kids. Perfect family day out.

This is what I wore. Simple and casual for the event...

Will you be attending the next one?
