Items Favoured & Flawed

It's that time once again where I showcase anything that I've been gravitating towards and those things that just didn't make the cut for me over the past several months, so let's jump right into it and get started

ITEMS FAVOURED

Now I've always heard about the great benefits of using witch hazel, and since I was in the market for a new facial toner I decided to grab this at a local health food store and I'm glad I did; there's no drying alcohol and the added aloe extract is really great. It balances my skin and removes excess residue and dirt that's hidden in my pores even after cleansing.

I should thank Shannon for reintroducing this to me and if you're wondering 'What the heck is she doing with this?' don't be alarmed, Milk of Magnesia is a great oil absorbing primer for the face; I use it to prevent my face from looking like a greasy pizza by the end of the day. I apply it to my face and allow a few minutes for it to dry completely then follow up with my L'oreal Magic Perfecting Base primer and my face looks flawless and shine-free for hours!

I've been lazy and I haven't made my body butter recently, so I needed a body moisturizer ASAP, so I picked this up at Price Smart (it's cheaper there) and it has been great at moisturizing my skin without leaving behind a greasy residue and it doesn't feel too heavy on the skin.

Razor bumps? What razor bumps? This has been a life saver for me and is now a part of my daily routine. I initially bought this to help diminish those pesky razor bumps and it has definitely done that. I now use it as an after shave lotion to stop razor bumps from popping up. It's great for underarms, bikini line, wherever you get razor bumps.

I normally used my Clarisonic to cleanse my face, but quite honestly I've been giving it a rest because for the past 2 months I just enjoy using these facial sponges to help cleanse my face. It's better than just washing with your hands as they offer gentle exfoliation and you can get them at most pharmacies for pretty cheap. I recommend allowing your sponge to dry outside of the shower after each use and changing them every month and a half or so.

This store is gonna take all my money!! and if you don't know about ASOS.COM, girl you better recognize! This UK based online store offers great fashionable clothing, jewelry, accessories, and a whole lot more. They can be pricey, but I only shop in the sale section, and you can ALWAYS get some awesome deals there and the best treat of all, THEY SHIP TO JA FOR FREEEEE!!!! (N.B. it does take a while though ....JA postal service is like snail mail)

Here's a tiny tiny sneek peek of a beach outfit I styled with a pair of high waisted hot pants that I purchased from ASOS for only USD$9 !! I will be featuring it in an upcoming haul video so stay tuned!!

ITEMS FLAWED

I wish I could say that I loved this foundation, but my initial love for it has faded away; I don't know what happened but it just makes me look like a hot mess no matter what I try. I don't know, I guess it's just one of those things. I tried to use it up but it looks so ashy on my face I just gave up. It expires this month so I don't feel too bad about throwing it out.

If you guys didn't already know, I'm a natural haired chick, so I've been learning how to take care of my hair myself, although it hasn't been too easy. I saw this new product on the market by Organic Root Stimulator and they've been known for their great Olive Oil products so I decided to try it out, but this No Restrictions Moisturizing Conditioner totally missed the mark, and the ingredient to blame.... the dreaded SILICONE. After I deep conditioned with it, I rinsed my hair out and it felt like dry, brittle hay! I immediately went back in the shower and washed my hair all over again. I guess my hair doesn't like silicones, so I don't like this product and that's that.

Well guys if you've tried any of these products let me know what you think about them. So until my next installment of Items Favoured & Flawed... see ya later!

    1. Thank you for the great feedback! I've heard about the Monistat before but the Tarte Smooth Operator looks interesting, so since it a serum I'm guessing that you put this on your face before you apply the Phillps and the Monistat. Your makeup should be super flawless for the day :)
