Thanksgiving is not a major holiday for us here in Jamaica, but with all the buzz that’s going on about Black Friday and the amazing deals that you’re able to scoop up on clothing, electronics, toys, books, and so on, it isn’t a surprise that many Jamaicans have caught on to this trend and are also shopping around for deals and steals online; but, if you’re unable to shop online for Christmas gifts for friends and family, or personal items…. don’t sweat it….Black Friday is here in JA!!!
The promotion dubbed ‘A Christmas Festival of Savings -- Come Shop, Come Save’ is in its second year of operation (see the 2010 article here) and various stores in the Tropical, Mall and Twin Gates Plazas will be showcasing massive sales on all merchandise. The event kicks off this evening, Thursday November 24, 2011 at 5:30pm and will run until Saturday November 26, 2011 and by the sounds of it it’s sure to be exciting. Tonight’s event will include a Santa Claus and tree lighting ceremony, various performances and 'pre-sale' offerings; but tomorrow begins the real deals; stores will be open from 8:00 am – 8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday so if you want to partake in the festivities, I suggest you get out there early to cash in on the savings, I heard on RJR this morning that the best deals will be from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.
Happy Shopping!! :)
