OOTD: Day by the River

Jamaica's emancipation/independence holiday must be the most anticipated period in Jamaica for 2012. We celebrated our 50th year of independence and also we were all hyped on the amazing Olympic's showdown that was to come. Event's were being held all over the island to celebrate Jamaica50. This was a time for me to spend quality time with my family and just celebrate being Jamaicans!

On Emancipation Day, my family and I took a trip to Portland, the parish where my grandmother is from and we had a family riverside cookout. We had a lovely time, and this is the outfit I wore for my day by the river. The outfit is pretty much casual and neutral, with a pop of neon. Belts are a simple way of incorporating colour into a neutral look.

Top: H&M  |  Shorts: Hollister

Headband: Forever21

Pants: Hollister

Cuff: HK market  |  Watch: Michael Kors  |  Bracelets: H&M

Did you go to see Batman? How was it?

Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen Review

When trying to conjure up interesting nail art designs, I always like to consult Google images so I can get tons of inspiration for trendy and intricate designs; but if you're not so skilled in the nail art department it can be a pain in the you know what to try and recreate some of these designs. So while out shopping one day I came across the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen and I decided to give it a try.

Now I currently own only one colour and its in the colour Black, but they come in a variety of shades that will suite any design that you're going for (check here for the entire colour range). The nail polish flows easily through the fine tip applicator which makes it super easy to draw/write lines, shapes, letters, figures and it's great for creating effortless french manicures, but once you're done you MUST make sure to seal the design in with a good top coat.

A noticeable con to the nail art pen is the fact that shortly after it's applied over another nail polish and left to dry it starts to crackle up a bit and I subsequently had to reapply it in some spots and without applying a top coat the design will definitely rub off/fade out; but besides that I think that it's a great product and I'll probably purchase a few other colours to round off my collection. In the mean time here's a quick outcome of the test run that I conducted on the pen.

10 minutes later without applying a top coat. I scratched my head and this is what happened :)

Has anyone else tried the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens? lemme know what you think about them
Hope this helped ; )

OOTD: Beach Party

One thing that I look forward to every summer in Jamaica is good beach parties. Jamaican beach parties are more about making a fashion statement than it is about dipping and splashing in the beach. Don't get me wrong, you will definitely have a great time, but you have to look good doing it.

The other day I went to Absinthe, a well known beach party, and this is the outfit I decided to wear. I love the earth tones of this outfit and the fact that it's beach party appropriate without showing too much.

The accessories I paired the outfit with...

Bikini Top: H&M
Bikini Bottom: F21
Maxi Skirt: ASOS
Sandals: Bamboo
Bracelets: Bershka, H&M
Earring: Charlotte Russe
Rings: F21

Make-Up: Debbie
Photographer: Sanai

I hope you are having a lovely day,

Colour Coordinated Closet

I finished school in Hong Kong and I am now moving back home to Jamaica and with that comes the task of moving ALL my stuff from across the world. I am in the process of organizing my room and closet. I decided to colour coordinate my closet and I got to say, the presentation is so much better! So I am challenging you all to use this summer to clean out your closets and colour coordinate your clothes. It's so much fun!

My attempt at colour coordinating my closet - it's a bit crammed though

Where to begin? I would suggest emptying your closet completely and then start by hanging 'white clothes' and in between you can use the below colour wheel as a guide in the direction of 'light pinks' to 'reds'; then you can end with 'black clothes'. If you don't have a piece of clothing of a specific colour, just skip that colour!

Happy colour coordinating all!
